This Privacy Policy describes how Capital IT (Pvt) Ltd("Capital IT", "we", "us", or "our"), the operator of MyEnergyHub.pk (the "Site"), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, use our calculators, sign up for an account, post in our community forum, or request installation services. We're based in Lahore, Pakistan, and we comply with Pakistan's Personal Data Protection Bill and reasonable international privacy norms.
1. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
(a) Information you give us
- Account data — name, email, password (hashed), city, and phone number when you create an account.
- Calculator inputs — monthly units, sanctioned kW, panel wattage, city, DISCO, and similar inputs you type into our tools. When you click "Save calculation," this is stored against your account.
- Bill photos — when you use the AI Bill Analyzer, the image you upload is processed by our backend and an AI model (see Section 4) and is not retained beyond the analysis session.
- Community forum content — threads, replies, and votes you post in /community. These are public.
- Support enquiries — anything you send to support@myenergyhub.pk or on WhatsApp.
(b) Information collected automatically
- Log data — IP address, browser type, device type, referrer, and pages visited.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5 (Cookies).
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4 tracks page views, calculator usage, and aggregated demographic info. We use this in pseudonymous form.
(c) Information from third parties
- OAuth sign-in — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account ID via Supabase Auth.
- Payment processors — if you purchase a Pro subscription, JazzCash or our payment provider shares transaction status (not your full card number).
2. How we use information
- To provide and improve our calculators, AI bill analysis, and community forum.
- To respond to support requests and installation enquiries.
- To send service emails (e.g. account verification, password reset, transactional notifications). We do not send marketing emails without your opt-in.
- To analyse aggregate usage patterns and improve product quality.
- To detect and prevent abuse (rate-limiting, fraud detection, moderation of community content).
- To comply with legal obligations in Pakistan.
3. Advertising and Google AdSense
The Site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. We do not directly target ads based on your account data or personal information. Google may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:
- Show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
- Personalise ads using a unique cookie called the DoubleClick DART cookie.
- Measure ad performance.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info/choices. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies. Third-party vendors and ad networks that we partner with may also use cookies on this Site.
4. AI processing of bill photos
The AI Bill Analyzer sends the image you upload to a generative AI model (currently Google Gemini) which extracts the text, units, and charges from the image. The image is processed server-side, the structured result is returned to your browser, and the original image is not retained by us beyond the analysis. We log only anonymised summary data (DISCO, total amount, anomaly count) for product analytics — see Section 1(b).
Do not upload bills that contain information you would not want processed by a third-party AI model. If you have concerns, use our manual electricity bill calculator instead.
5. Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Authentication — session cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in.
- Preferences — your selected language (English / Urdu) and locale.
- Analytics — Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid) for aggregate traffic measurement.
- Advertising — Google AdSense cookies (see Section 3).
You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in.
6. Sharing information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers — Supabase (database & auth), Google Cloud (AI processing), Resend (transactional email), Google Analytics (analytics), Google AdSense (advertising), JazzCash (payments).
- Capital IT's installation team — if you request a quote, we share your name, contact details, and address with our installation engineers to deliver the service.
- Legal authorities — when required by Pakistani law or a valid court order.
- Acquirers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with notice to you.
7. Data retention
- Account data — retained while your account is active and for 12 months after deletion request, then purged.
- Saved calculations — retained until you delete them or close your account.
- Bill analysis images — not retained beyond the analysis session.
- Server logs — typically 90 days.
- Community forum content — retained indefinitely as part of the public knowledge base; you can request removal of your specific posts.
8. Your rights
You can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you by logging in to your dashboard.
- Correct your name, city, or phone number via account settings.
- Delete your account by emailing support@myenergyhub.pk.
- Request a copy of your saved calculations.
- Opt out of analytics by using browser-level Do Not Track or installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
9. Children
MyEnergyHub is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Security
We use TLS for all data in transit, hashed passwords, and Supabase's Row-Level Security to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if you suspect unauthorised access, email us immediately.
11. International data transfers
Our infrastructure runs on a VPS hosted in Europe, with Supabase data stored on the same server. Our AI processing uses Google Cloud (which may process data outside Pakistan). Google Analytics and AdSense process data globally. By using the Site, you consent to these transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the new policy.
